Senior Infra Engineer

Introduction:

The purpose of the role is to deploy, support, and manage projects for private clouds with focus on VMware and NSX technology.  This role will require the successful candidate to communicate with both vendors and internal team and stake holders.

What will you be doing?

•    Current knowledge and expertise with VMware ESXi 6.x, VMware vCenter server 6.x including VMware Cloud Foundation.
•    Has a VMware certified professional qualification with focus in Networking Technology.
•    Has software defined networking knowledge with VMware NSX-V & NSX-T 6.3.x or above including both the distributed firewall and VXLAN features.
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills.
•    Structured technical problem solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
•    Strong customer liaison and relationship management skills.
•    Must be able to work well under pressure, take clear ownership of issues and drive to ensure successful closure for the customer, peers and IT Production.

.What we’re looking for:

•    3+ years of hands on experience providing support for VCF and VMware ESXi 6.x,
•    3+ Years of hands on experience in deploying NSX-V/T based SDN solutions in production
•    Should have strong troubleshooting skills related routing issues in large enterprise environments and expertise level of knowledge in root cause analysis(RCA)
•    Should have experience in handling major incidents and demonstrate strategic approach while investigating the root cause
•    Should have knowledge of migrating from NSX-V to NSX-T infrastructure
•    Should have knowledge of software defined data centre technologies such as VMWare cloud foundation
•    Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire VMware product portfolio expert level knowledge of the virtual cloud networking product lines, which include NSX-V/T, ALB , vRNI & HCX.
•    Work as part of a wider project team or independently act as technical lead on migration engagements and define project requirements/issues/constraints with PMs.
•    Assist in the development of our service offerings as well as developing migration content, best practices, and internal documentation.
•    Plan and lead virtualized network infrastructure migration engagements, implementations and roll-outs including hands-on implementation of NSX.
•    Make accurate impact assessments, and raise, implement, close down and roll-back plans when required
•    Confidently gather use case requirements and creation of low-level designs while functioning as an advisory resource for “Best Practices” and driving adoption of VMware solutions
•    Minimum educational qualification required for the role is Graduate

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    VMware Certified Professional 6.5 Data Center Virtualization (VCP6.5-DCV) preferred
•    VMware Certified Professional 6 – Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV) preferred
•    Understanding of cloud-hosted application architecture.
•    Preferred knowledge of HP, Dell, and Cisco server hardware.
•    Basic knowledge of UNIX.
•    Understanding of networking concepts and technologies.
•    Extensive experience in working with highly technical individuals.
•    Strong collaboration and communication skills.

•    Experience of a support organisation and associated tools such as ServiceNow.
